The Nepali team was chasing a target of 221 runs to win, but the Nepali team was all out for 118 runs in 29.4 overs and was forced to suffer a humiliating defeat by 102 runs.  For the Nepali team, which was chasing a target of 221 runs, no batsman except Arif Sheikh could take responsibility and the Nepali team was forced to suffer a humiliating and huge defeat by 102 runs. Arif scored 44 runs in 56 balls for the Nepali team, hitting 4 fours in that innings.

Arif has once again proven that he is the one-day speller batsman of the Nepali team. He has certainly given a good sign for the Nepali team, but due to lack of support from other batsmen, he could not lead the Nepali team to victory. There are many examples of Arif leading the Nepali team to victory before.

In those matches, other batsmen would have also helped, but in this match, Arif was unable to lead the Nepali team to victory. The Nepali team should have been able to give a good start to the Nepali team to chase the target of 221 runs, but the re-pairing of Kushal Bhurtel and Anil Shah could not give a good start to the Nepali team, due to which the Nepali team was headed towards defeat.

Bhurtel could only score 13 runs in the ODI format for the Nepali team. In that process, one four came out of his bat. Bhurtel was also a super flop in the UK tour. High expectations were placed on Bhurtel, but Bhurtel could not perform as expected, due to which the Nepali team could not win. Similarly, for the Nepali team, captain Rohit Poudel scored only 17 runs in 26 balls.

Rohit hit three fours in the match. After the top order was completely destroyed, high expectations were placed on Rohit to give the Nepali team a victory, but he could not perform as expected. Rohit, who had earlier shown signs of returning to form by playing an innings of 61 runs against Glamorgan, had certainly shown some good intent in the beginning of this match, but that good intent could not last till the end and he was out after scoring only 17 runs.

Similarly, high expectations were also placed on Basirhat for the Nepali team, but his bowling performance was not that good. He was expected to give the Nepali team a victory with his batting. But he also failed to score runs. He scored only 7 runs in 21 balls but failed to hit any fours or sixes.

He has not been very successful in taking wickets for the Nepali senior team in international matches. In the coming days, Bashir will have to make the most of the opportunities he has got and lead the Nepali team to victory.
